🇿🇦 Day of Reconciliation
Today, NHN reflects on unity, healing, and shared purpose — the foundation of a stronger, healthier South Africa. By fostering collaboration and respect across communities and healthcare systems, we can continue building a nation where every life has access to quality care.

Today, we pause with the global community to honour every life affected by HIV & AIDS - the survivors, the fighters, the caregivers, the healthcare workers, and the families who carry the legacy of those we’ve lost.
South Africa continues to stand at the forefront of resilience. With world-leading treatment programmes, dedicated medical teams, and communities who show unwavering courage, we are reminded that prevention, testing, education, and care save lives.
At the National Hospital Network, we stand firmly with our member hospitals, clinicians, and partners who deliver quality, compassionate care every day.
We reaffirm our commitment to supporting access to healthcare, strengthening awareness, and advocating for a future free from stigma and discrimination.
❤️ Remember. Support. Educate. Empower.
Together, we can continue turning the tide.

💙 “I live with diabetes, but it doesn’t define me.”
When Taryn, a 42-year-old mother of two from Johannesburg, was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, she admits she was terrified. “At first, I thought it meant I’d lose my freedom. I didn’t realise I could take charge of my health and still live fully.”
Over time, Taryn learned how to make small but powerful changes - eating balanced meals, staying active, and checking his blood sugar daily. “It wasn’t easy at first, but consistency changed everything. I started feeling stronger, clearer, more in control.”
Today, Taryn is thriving. She’s back to playing padel with her kids, cooking healthier meals at home, and even encouraging others in her community to go for regular screenings. “I live with diabetes, but it doesn’t control me. I’ve learned that discipline, awareness, and self-care are what keep me free.”
Your story could inspire others to take control of their health. Share your experience of living with diabetes - your journey might give someone else the courage to start theirs.
